Description

UBE2N (Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 N) is a member of the E2 family of ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes that plays a pivotal role in protein ubiquitination. Unlike many E2 enzymes that mediate degradative ubiquitination, UBE2N is primarily involved in the synthesis of K63-linked polyubiquitin chains. These non-proteolytic chains regulate critical signaling pathways, including DNA repair, innate immunity, and signal transduction. A UBE2N antibody is widely used to investigate ubiquitin signaling and cellular stress responses.

UBE2N functions in concert with co-factors such as UBE2V1 and UBE2V2, which determine substrate specificity and chain linkage. Together, these complexes influence diverse cellular pathways.
