Description

Ubiquitin thioesterase OTUB1 also known as otubain-1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the OTUB1 gene. The product of this gene is a member of the OTU (ovarian tumor) superfamily of predicted cysteine proteases. The encoded protein is a highly specific ubiquitin iso-peptidase, and cleaves ubiquitin from branched poly-ubiquitin chains but not from ubiquitinated substrates. It interacts with another ubiquitin protease and an E3 ubiquitin ligase that inhibits cytokine gene transcription in the immune system. It is proposed to function in specific ubiquitin-dependent pathways, possibly by providing an editing function for polyubiquitin chain growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Optimal dilution of the OTUB1 antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

An E.coli-derived human recombinant protein (amino acids K10-K271) was used as the immunogen for the OTUB1 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the OTUB1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
