Description

This gene encodes a hypothalamic neuropeptide precursor protein that gives rise to two mature neuropeptides, orexin A and orexin B, by proteolytic processing. Orexin A and orexin B, which bind to orphan G-protein coupled receptors HCRTR1 and HCRTR2, function in the regulation of sleep and arousal. This neuropeptide arrangement may also play a role in feeding behavior, metabolism, and homeostasis.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the HCRT antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

A synthetic peptide specific to human HCRT protein was used as the immunogen for the HCRT antibody. The sequence is 100% homolgous in mouse and rat.

Storage

After reconstitution, the HCRT Antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
