Annexin V is a member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins. It plays a central role in cellular processes such as membrane organization, anti-inflammatory signaling, and particularly in the detection of early apoptosis. During apoptosis, phosphatidylserine is translocated from the inner to the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane. Annexin V binds specifically to this phospholipid, making it a widely used marker for identifying apoptotic cells in vitro and in vivo.
In addition to its role in apoptosis detection, Annexin V is involved in coagulation, inflammation, and membrane repair. It is expressed in a variety of tissues and cell types, and its functional significance has made it a valuable tool for both basic and clinical research.
Multiple isoforms of Annexin V have been reported due to alternative splicing events, although the canonical isoform remains the most studied. These isoforms may have differences in cellular localization and functional properties, making it important to select an Annexin V antibody that provides reliable recognition of the relevant variants.
Researchers routinely use an Annexin V antibody in applications such as western blot, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence to detect and quantify protein expression. A high-quality Annexin V antibody is essential for studies involving cell death, cancer biology, cardiovascular disease, and immune regulation.
NSJ Bioreagents offers Annexin V antibody products that are validated for multiple applications and designed to deliver high specificity and sensitivity. Each Annexin V antibody in our catalog is backed by rigorous quality control and extensive documentation to support your experimental success.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the Annexin V antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Human partial recombinant protein (AA 2-320) was used as the immunogen for this Annexin V antibody.
After reconstitution, the Annexin V antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
